The 1960s in Peru


1.     Initiation of the movement known as hippies, questioning authority and government, and demanding more freedoms and rights for women and minorities. 

2.     The hippies wore cheap clothes and colorful, and they not wore synthetic clothing.

3.     In the 1960s, more families bought television and they saw walk the man on the moon.

4.     The first James Bond film appeared in 1962 and had new special effects.

5.     The girls wore mini-skirts and boot and the boys wore leather jackets and jeans.

6.     The teenagers listened to rock music bands as The Beatles, Led Zeppelin and The Rolling Stones.

7.     Start of the migration of indigenous peoples of the Andes to Lima. 

8.     The 1960s is important for the poetry Peruvian because there were diversity of thoughts and the quality of his poems. 

9.     Generation 60 in Peru was undergoing a strong atmosphere of tension and ideological, social and political changes that was decisive for the development of their proposals. 
10.   Peru had an unstable political environment.
